 Tatuaje cigars are the brainchild of Pete Johnson, with the creation of the cigar blends being a collaboration between Pete and Pepin Garcia. Pete knows what taste profile he wants in a particular cigar, imparts that information to Pepin, and Pepin uses his expertise to pick out the appropriate tobaccos to try to match that taste profile. Prototype cigars are created, Pete smokes them, and asks for a bit more of this flavor profile, a bit less of that, etc., and the process continues until the final blend is reached.
Tatuaje cigars all created in the Cuban tradition, from the plain wooden boxes, traditional presentation, band design, and also the blending and rolling of the cigars, complete with a triple-cap. All of the cigars are blended with 100% Nicaraguan tobacco (Nicaraguan puros) grown from 1st generation Cuban seed, hand-selected for quality and taste.

 Tatuaje Cabinet Cigars
Tatuaje has taken the industry by storm! Their rare cigars have been named among Cigar Aficionado’s Top 25 Cigars of the Year for both 2005 and 2006.  Tatuaje Reserva Cigars
The Reserva line of Tatuaje cigars all sport a second gold band that says "Reserva" in gold on a black background. This second band is meant to appear similar to the Cuban "Edicion Limitada" band, and the cigars are analogous to Cuban EL cigars, in that they are small production, with different blends for each cigar.
The "SW" stands for "Sir Winston", a tribute to the H.Upmann cigar of the same name; lighter colored viso wrappers are selected for this cigar to make it similar looking to the H.Upmann version.
The J 21 cigar uses an aged ligero wrapper that balances well with the blend for that particular cigar (the other Reserva cigars all use viso wrapper). You might think of the J 21 as a "baby Cojonu" in terms of the blend in the cigar. "J 21" has a number of meanings. First, the Johnson family was very into sports, and always wore jersey #21, with "Johnson" on the back. Second, a close friend of Pete's had his beloved dog named Jos die at age 21, the same year this cigar debuted.

 Tatuaje Havana VI Cigars
These cigars are Nicaraguan puros created from the same tobacco used to create Tatuaje cigars, but instead of being rolled in Miami, they are rolled in Nicaragua. This allows more cigars to be produced, at a lower price point, while keeping the quality and taste what you'd expect from Tatuaje.
The blend itself is between the fuller bodied Tatuaje cigars and the milder blend used in Cabaiguan cigars; this is achieved in part due to the use or aromatic volado leaf in lieu of ligero for some of the filler. The cigar line is called the "Havana VI" because they are a collection of six classic Cuban vitolas blended and rolled in Cuban tradition (triple cap and all).

 Tatuaje Cabaiguan Cigars
Cabaiguan (kah-bei-GWAHN ) cigars are a medium-bodied cigar created by Pete Johnson in concert with Pepin Garcia and his son Jaime. The cigars are named after a city in Cuba in northern Sancti Spíritus province that is home to some of the most knowledgeable cigar men in Cuba (Pepin just so happens to be from Cabaiguan as well). While they share some characteristics of the Tatuaje cigars in terms of construction and packaging, they are a distinct blend.
