The Powstanie SBC22 Corona Gorda is a limited edition release that arrived at retailers in December of 2023. Although Powstanie co-founders and brothers Mike & Gregg Szczepankiewicz usually develop their blends, for the SBC22 it was Skip Martin of RoMa Craft cigars fame who did the honors. However, not only did Skip refuse to disclose the 5½” x 46 vitola’s blend details to the media, he didn’t even release the information to the brothers. Something tells us that the Szczepankiewicz’s know it by now, but all we can tell you is that it’s a full-bodied smoke. Nonetheless, Mike said, “This could possibly be the greatest blend Skip has ever created.” If you’re a fan of Powstanie and/or RoMa Craft you’re probably pretty jazzed about smoking the Powstanie SBC22, so you’ll have to be the judge. The annual limited edition Powstanie Wojtek "War Bear" cigar is a slick looking barber pole format, using Ecuadorian Habano and Mexican San Andres tobacco leaves. The name Wojtek stems from a Syrian brown bear who was purchased to assist the Poland military in moving stockpiles of ammunition and supplies during WWII. Wojtek the "War Bear" was even enlisted as a Polish soldier, and during his tenure ended up with the rank of corporal. The majestic 490-pound bear’s war stories became very popular with the Polish nation after World War II ended making Wojtek famous throughout central Europe.
